As those who live in Bird Key can attest, the island paradise is one that is constantly transforming and improving in ways that make it an even better place to live. While nothing can top the natural beauty that Bird Key has to offer, various projects and improvements have helped to make the island one of the country’s best places to call home. Here is a look at just a few of the projects that have taken place throughout Bird Key over the past few years.
One project that has helped to make Bird Key Florida real estate for sale attractive to home buyers was the Entryway Renovation Project. Not only did this project result in a beautifully landscaped entryway, but the project also illustrates the true sense of community that exists with Bird Key’s residents. In fact, the project didn’t get underway until after input was gathered from residents for over a year. After discussing the project at length with several landscape architects, the bulk of the entryway project was completed in 2006. Still, a few aspects of the project remain ongoing as residents continue to work toward making the best first impression possible.
Another ongoing project that has helped add to the natural beauty of Bird Key is the Canopy Tree Project. During the first phase of this project, which was completed in 2005, more than 30 trees were added to many of the homes located along Bird Key Drive. The second phase took place in 2007 and included adding more trees along the remainder of Bird Key Drive as well as along Pheasant Drive. The residents of the homes where the trees were added have agreed to care for the trees in an effort to beautiful their homes as well as the island.
The WMURT Western Corridor Project is another project that has been taking place in Bird Key over the past few years. This project involved updating the landscaping from the Bird Key entrance light to St. Armand’s Key and Lido Shores. As with the other projects, residents offered a great deal of input into this project.
Whether it’s ongoing projects or future projects, Bird Key residents are sure to be greatly involved in all discussions regarding improvements and other projects. It is thanks to this sense of community and commitment to keeping Bird Key real estate beautiful that the island will long remain one of the top places to live in the United States.
